I found this lovely post on the City Girl Searching blog titled ‘The Wonderlust Tag’. Intrigued by this tag after reading her blog I did a Google search which revealed lots of posts on this topic!
Interested in travel I had to get involved! Read about my wanderlust tag below
If you too want to get involved, tag me into your post so I can read about your wanderlust
1. Your most treasured passport stamp?
I was lucky to visit a few countries with my parents before I graduated high school, but my most treasured stamp definitely belong to Thailand. I had been dreaming of visiting Thailand probably for five years before I had the time to actually go there. Apart from moving to Korea, visiting Thailand was the first vacation I took without my family and that I paid for entirely myself. The country really was so awesome and I’m dying to go back and explore it more in depth.
2. Can you recite your passport number from memory is asked?
I know only the first two digits. I have so many numbers in my head that the passport number falls to the bottom of ‘numbers to remember’. I seldom need my passport number, and these days even booking flight tickets doesn’t often require a passport number
3. Preferred methods of travel? Plane, train or automobiles?
I prefer airplanes because they get to places faster, and I cannot sit in a car/bus or train for periods longer than 3 hours without feeling irritated. I do not mind taking trains if they are luxury ones though and as long as I have some good company along for the journey.
4. Top 3 travel items?
My tablet, a sarong-scarf-blanket 3 in 1, comfortable walking shoes.
5. Hostels or hotels?
I’ve done a few hostels but I really prefer hotels. I need my sleep to be solid and I am an incredibly light sleeper.
6. Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
Thus far I am an explorer of new places, as there is so much I still want to see in this big world, but there are a few places I would love to return to some day.
7. Do you read up on your destination (culture, history, safety) or do you wing it?
I do a little bit of reading on culture so I know where to base myself in the country and I skim read a safety sections. I usually list the top things to do in the country and then wing it from there.
8. Favorite travel website?
Booking.com for accommodation.
Kayak for cheap flights
Trip advisor for things to do in the country
Numbero to get an estimate of the prices of things in the country, so you can make a money budget
9. Where would you recommend a friend visit? Name a city and why.
This is so difficult because I have fond memories of all the places I have been to. I might suggest Taipei, Taiwan. It was the first country I visited solo, and I loved everything about this place.
The people are beyond friendly, its a cheap place to visit and there is tons of things to see and do that are free! The public transport is awesome and its very safe for solo travelling.
10. You are leaving tomorrow, money is no option, where are you going?
Without a doubt I’m going to Canada. One of my best friends lives there, and she recently came to visit me here in Korea, so I am dying to return the lovely gesture and visit her in Vancouver. Also a handful of wonderful people I have met while living in Korea come from Canada, so I would love to visit them all
